If you've ever watched an episode of COPS, you've seen young men with their asses hanging out of baggy pants, running from the scene. If you can call it running. I suppose I should be grateful, in a way, for this heinous 'fashion' trend. If the suspects were decked out in gym shorts and Nikes, they might have a better shot at getting away.

All of which reminds me of a lawyer friend of mine, who says the most common defense he hears from clients who've been busted for drugs: "Sure they found crack in my pocket, but those wasn't even my pants. I just borrowed them pants from my cousin. It's my cousin's crack." Which may explain why they were so baggy and falling down while the suspect was trying to run away. Not his pants.

I just saw a young man...maybe in his mid-20s....walk in front of my car yesterday with the whole ass-out look going. Decorative blue boxers, and his big ol' jeans belted across his thighs fully below his butt cheeks. Tight tank top, doo rag, all that stuff. I'm thinking, hasn't that look gone out yet? Christ, it's like 10, 15 years old. I'd figure it's time for an update.

And plus you can't walk in it without looking like you pooped yourself.

A terrible "style" - like Jay, I have seen young men with perfectly tightened belts around their groin or thighs! I know that I am shaking my head when I see them and have to remind myself that this action makes me look very very old! I'm glad my boys are through this phase.

I agree. This style is very old. If they were following the trends they'd be wearing skinny denims and going for a cleaner look. The urban fashion pendulum is swinging toward the 80's. They need to get current!

I don't if you've ever seen the movie "Loser" with Jason Biggs and Mena Survari (if you haven't, you aren't missing anything) but there is this scene where he wears a pair of jeans his mother bought him so he could be "hip and with it." They are low jeans with the boxers built into them so you automatically "bust a sag."

I don't know if these really exist. But if they do, the designer should be shot.

You made me bust out laughing! I don't get this "fasion" trend myself, never have. Do guys really like the idea that with one small tug their pants are down with who knows what for all to see?? I know they have boxers on, but lets keep underwear private!! I also dislike the low-low girls jeans that show off bejeweled thongs and such. So tacky!

LOL - this cracked me up - in what universe is that attractive??? I warned my nephew-in-law several years ago not to do it around me and when he showed up that way, I walked past and tugged. The pants ended up at his feet and we all cracked up. It was the last time he did it around me!

It actually is a crime in Flint, Michigan now.

that was poorly worded. what i meant was: that fashion prevails in prisons where the chance for quick getaways is effectively nil.

Yeah, I love these fashion trends where I'm forced to see unspeakable body parts against my will! That and loud cell phone use should be a crime all in themselves!
